Exporting a Database in phpMyAdmin

Exporting a Database in phpMyAdmin

Learn how to export a copy of your database using phpMyAdmin in Plesk. An export is a single .sql file containing all of your database tables and their contents, which is useful as a backup or when moving a website.

Steps

  1. Log in to Plesk via your Zeniar Portal
  2. Select Databases from the left-hand menu
  3. Click phpMyAdmin next to the database you'd like to export
  4. Click the Export tab in the top menu
  5. Leave the export method set to Quick and the format set to SQL
  6. Click Export
  7. Save the .sql file to your computer

Important: The file contains everything in your database, which may include customer details and passwords. Store it somewhere safe and never leave a copy in your website's httpdocs folder.

Note: You can also click Export Dump next to the database in Plesk. This saves the export as a file in your hosting account instead of downloading it.

A copy of your database is now saved as an SQL file.
