Installing PHP Dependencies with Composer in Plesk
Learn how to install the packages your PHP project needs using the PHP Composer tool in Plesk. If your project has a composer.json file, such as a Laravel app, it will not run until its dependencies are installed. You do not need to use the command line.
Steps
- Upload your project, including its composer.json file. See Uploading Your AI-Built Project to Plesk
- Log in to Plesk via your Zeniar Portal
- Select Websites & Domains from the left-hand menu
- Click PHP Composer under Dev Tools. If you have more than one domain, expand the domain you'd like to update first
- If your project is not shown, click Scan so Plesk can find your composer.json file
- Check that Folder shows the folder your project is in, for example /httpdocs
- Check that Mode is set to Production. If it is not, click Change Mode and select Production
- Under Package Dependencies, click Install and wait for the task to finish
- Visit your domain in a web browser to check that your project loads
Important: Composer uses the PHP version set for your domain. If the install fails with a message about the PHP version, change the version first. See Choosing the PHP Version and Settings for Your Project
Note: Run Install again whenever you upload a new version of your project that changes composer.json. The Update button moves your packages to their newest allowed versions, which is useful for security fixes.
Your project's PHP dependencies are now installed in its vendor folder.
