Why Your Website Shows the Default Plesk Page
Learn why your domain shows the default Plesk page and how to fix it. The default page is a placeholder that appears when the server cannot find your website for the address that was requested.
Steps
- Log in to Plesk via your Zeniar Portal
- Select Files from the left-hand menu and open the httpdocs folder for your domain
- If your website has not been uploaded yet, upload it. If it has, remove the placeholder index.html file that was there before your upload. See Managing Files in Plesk File Manager
- If your website's files are in a subfolder, either move them into httpdocs or point your domain at that subfolder. See Setting the Document Root for Your Project in Plesk
- Select Websites & Domains and check that the domain you are visiting is listed. A domain that points to our server but has not been added to your account shows the default page. See Adding a New Domain in Plesk
- If your website loads at http but the default page appears at https, install an SSL certificate. See SSL Certificate in Plesk
- If you still see the default page, your browser may be showing a saved copy. See Clearing Your Browser Cache to See Website Changes
Note: If you changed your DNS recently, some visitors may see the old location until the change has spread. See Checking Whether Your DNS Changes Have Taken Effect
Your domain should now show your website.
