Troubleshooting Your AI-Built Project in Plesk
Learn how to find the cause when your AI-built website or app shows an error, a blank page or the wrong content after uploading. Work through the steps in order and stop when your project loads.
Steps
- Log in to Plesk via your Zeniar Portal
- Select Websites & Domains from the left-hand menu
- Click Logs under Dev Tools. If you have more than one domain, expand the domain you'd like to update first
- Load your website in another browser tab so the error happens again, then read the newest lines in the log. See Viewing Domain Logs in Plesk
- If you see a 403 error or a default page, check that your index.php or index.html file is in the folder your domain loads. See Setting the Document Root for Your Project in Plesk
- If you see a 500 error on a PHP project and the log mentions vendor/autoload.php, the dependencies are missing. See Installing PHP Dependencies with Composer in Plesk
- If the log mentions a syntax error or a required PHP version, your domain is on a different PHP version from the one your project was written for. See Choosing the PHP Version and Settings for Your Project
- If the log mentions a database connection, check the database name, user name and password in your project's settings, and use localhost as the database host. See Creating a New Database in Plesk
- If a Node.js app does not start, open Node.js, check Application Startup File, click NPM install, then click Restart App. See Building and Running a Node.js App in Plesk
- If the home page loads but other pages show a 404 error, ask your AI tool: Create a .htaccess file with the rewrite rules this project needs on Apache-compatible hosting, then upload it to the folder your domain loads
- If the error is still there, copy the error line from the log and give it to your AI tool, along with your PHP or Node.js version
Important: Remove any passwords or API keys from log lines before you paste them into an AI tool.
Note: When you ask your AI tool for help, tell it your project is hosted on Plesk with an Apache-compatible web server and that you do not have command line access. Its instructions will then match what you can do in Plesk.
Your project should now load on your domain without errors.
